Our Programs
The Methodist Preschool offers programs for 3s, 4s and 5s. Children must be 3, 4 or 5 years old by September 30th of the year in which they are enrolling. Children must also be toilet trained by their first day of class. For more information, please contact us.
The 3s - Gaining Trust and Building Skills Our threes program provides a warm, nurturing atmosphere in which the child's introduction to the educational process is accepting, inviting and encouraging, helping to establish a positive attitude towards school. Teachers assist the children in experiencing a positive separation from home; opportunities to work with various media forms; development of listening skills; opportunities for large and small motor development; exposure to readiness concepts in reading, writing and math; growth in social development; and awareness of safety. - Meets two days per week: M/T or W/Th
- We offer two morning sessions (M/T or W/Th from 9:05-11:30am) and one afternoon session (M/T 12:05-2:30pm)
- Parents participate five times per year
- Staff to children ratio 1:12
The 4s - Celebrating Independent Thinkers
Our fours program introduces children to kindergarten readiness concepts in reading, math, science and social studies using developmentally-appropriate, hands-on and play-based methods as well as individual and small group instruction. This program continues to help them in social, emotional and physical growth as well. The teachers also strive to develop an appreciation and enjoyment of music, art and creative expressions. There are many opportunities for making choices, becoming independent thinkers and developing confidence. - Meets three days per week: M, T, W
- We offer two morning sessions (both on M/T/W from 9:05-11:30am) and one afternoon session (M/T/W from 12:05-2:30pm)
- Parents participate seven times per year

The 5s - The Gift of Time Designed to honor each child's individual timetable for growth and development, our fives program children are given many opportunities to continue to practice skills for kindergarten readiness. Periods of free choice, creative play and traditional academic activities promote social skills, self-confidence and self-regulation, in an environment rich in literacy, math and the natural world.

- Morning session only: 9:05-12:30pm
- Children bring lunch

Fun Friday Program -- A Great Way to End the Week! This program is for children enrolled in The Methodist Preschool, and is not a parent participation program. This is a great supplemental day in addition to your child's preschool day. The children bring their lunches and are offered a variety of activities.

Lunch Bunch - More Time to Play!
If your child needs a little more time with friends, our Lunch Bunch program offers the perfect opportunity to extend their day. Registration information will be available to you at Parents' Orientation in September. Also, Lunch Bunch begins in late September -- we feel it is important to allow our children a few weeks of transition time before introducing the program.

(Parents may choose the day they wish to enroll their child)

We also have a lunch bunch aide in the classroom with the lead teacher.
